Clinical Consideration of Chronic Subdural Hematoma in 15 Cases

Abstract
|
|
|
During the years June 1965 to September 1966 at the 3rd Army Hospital, 15 cases were treated for chronic subdural hematoma. A clinical analysis was done and the results obtained as follows;
1. Age incidence were from 20 years to 30 years.
2. The causes of injury was trauma in all cases.
3. The interval from trauma to admission occurred in usually 3 months.
4. The most frequent complaints was headache.
5. The consciousness state of pre-operative patient was clear about 2/3.
6. In motor system, henmiplegic patient was about 1/3 number and hemiplegia was all contralateral side.
7. The measurement of C.S.F. pressure were about 60% over 200mm H20 and C.S.F. color was more clear than xanthochromic or bleeding color.
8. The most frequent site of the hematoma was frontotemporal region.
9. In simple plain of X-ray, normal skull were 80% than other pathological finding.
10. In finding of carotid angiography, avascular area pattern was 80%.
11. The surgical method were applied as craniotomy in 10 cases and trephination in 5 cases.
Our patients discharged in good condition but one patient.
